The scent profile

Fir opens with pine, eucalyptus and green leafy notes, creating the familiar aroma of evergreen branches. But this isn't the sharp, almost medicinal pine sometimes associated with cleaning products. The freshness is natural and resinous, softened by the woods beneath it.

As the fragrance develops, cedarwood and sandalwood bring a smooth, rounded warmth, while guaiacwood adds further depth and richness.

Why it works

Fir balances fresh, aromatic greenery with a deeper woody foundation.

Pine and eucalyptus give the fragrance its recognisable evergreen character, while cedarwood, sandalwood and guaiacwood soften the sharper edges and bring warmth and depth. It's this balance that distinguishes Fir from a more conventional, strongly pine-led fragrance.

Hand-poured in small batches using a coconut and rapeseed wax blend, each candle is tested for fragrance performance when burning. The fragrance oils are free from parabens and phthalates.

The design detail

Fir is poured into Ukiyo's signature amber glass vessel and finished with a black wood lid.

The warm tone of the glass takes on a deeper glow when lit, complementing the fragrance's woodland character. The dark lid adds a simple, tactile contrast, while the understated design sits naturally alongside the textures of winter — linen, wool, wood and soft lamplight.
