Candle Care
A few simple steps will help you get the best from your Ukiyo candle and keep the burn clean, even and beautifully atmospheric.
Section 1
On the first burn
The first burn matters most. Allow the wax to melt all the way across the surface before extinguishing, especially on the first use. This helps encourage an even burn and reduces the chance of tunnelling.
Section 2
Trim the wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to around 5mm. This helps the candle burn more cleanly and keeps the flame steady.
Section 3
Burn safely
Always place your candle on a heat-safe surface and keep it away from drafts, curtains and anything flammable.
Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep out of reach of children and pets.
Section 4
Keep it part of the ritual
A little care helps each candle feel better to use — a softer glow, a cleaner burn, and a more considered end to the day.
